Been considering some knives with the natural,/ jade g10 which I might dye myself.
A neat way to make it it yours.
kind of a digital urban camo thing going, i like it. did you boil it? adding a bit of white vinegar is supposed to strengthen process. post up reassembled too.
That is bad a$$.
I just let the water (4 cups) get to a simmer then added 1/4 cup of white vinegar and the whole packet of dye. I let it simmer for 7 mins checking every couple mins. It was pretty dyed at 2 mins but I wanted it really dark so I left it in longer. The pearl gray mixed with the green came out a really dark gray with a tint of blue. Came out better than I expected.
Really happy that I was able to get it reassembled better than it was originally. It had some blade play and the blade wasn’t completely centered. Also not as smooth as I thought it should be. Was able to get it perfectly centered with a little fiddling and its so smooth now with no play. It’s like a different knife. I’ve had it for years and now it feels (and looks) brand new. My “I got bored” moments usually don’t turn out this good.
Now I understand what my girlfriend told me.
Looks good, that's my favorite Spydie knife too.
Very nice. Good job!
Here are a couple pics of it assembled. Looks really blue in this light. as you can tell it’s my new (old) EDC.
