I remember Jack Whittaker in West Virginia; actually met him in a Hooter's Restaurant after he had won. His life went downhill fast after he won. I remember seeing his granddaughter on TV saying all she wanted was a new car. Two years later she was dead of a drug overdose at age 18.

I'm from West Virginia. We like talking about this guy. What a mess.

A friend and I went to South Charleston to pick up a Blaser I had bought. We were eating lunch in a Hooters there when this guy walked in by himself. I said " Isn't that Jack Whittaker ". He was dressed in all black including a cowboy hat and coat.

My friend said basically " No, he just gave a lot of money to his church. Why would he be in a Hooter's?". Eventually other people noticed him and went over to talk. Over the next year I remember him getting rolled two or three times at his local strip club. He always carried large amounts of cash evidently.

If I won I would roll with the bald black dude in the pink suit in the "Thrift Shop" video as my bodyguard.

Since he came public so quick, I am assuming he didn't have time enough to set up many advisors.

I'm doubling down. Dead in a month, like I said in the other thread.

I'd take on the rough challenge of winning a quarter billion, bring on the potential troubles. Could buy enough land and guns to get away from everyone.

Do you have to come forward in Florida to claim it? If not, then that was his first mistake.

My understanding he did not come forward until after he consulted with a lawyer and set up a corporation or trust called Secret 007 or something like that. Recall he got the ticket at a 7-11

He should have remained anonymous. Fame and fortune for someone that never had either usually doesn’t turn out well.
