    Tom tom? Garmin?

Anyone tried one specifically in Minneapolis MN?

I was late for a meeting due to the spaghetti maze of mislabeled roads yesterday!

    Thanks!

I've used my Tom Tom to get around Minneapolis, does that count?

I utilize a topographical map, a protractor, and a lensatic compass. I'm old school :whistling:

I've got a base model Tom Tom and I'm very happy with it. It's been good to me on my trips from Omaha to Denver or KC.

I use TomTom and Navigon on my iPhone depending on what mood I'm in. I like real-time traffic features.

Like after I've been stuck in traffic for 30 min and it goes "BING! Traffic ahead!"

I love my Nuvi 255W, but we had a little go-round this morning.

I had an address plugged in in a very rural area. It directed me down a looooonnnng private path (not the road in the address) and then just when I got to a woods line with an obvious creek bottom, it just quits talking ........like "You're on your own now. Good Luck."

Its done that before. Led me around a woods line to a drainage ditch in the middle of a cotton field behind the farmers house, then the yellow line just went away and she quit talking.

I still like it a lot. It saves me much time and I never really worry about directions if I can get an address.

Yah, my Nuvi 255 tried to route me through an ice cream processing plant in Dunkirk. To be fair it looked like a road and I think people had been using it as a thoroughfare but there was a chain link fence and gate with a sign saying "This is private property. No thoroughfare". I drove back to the main road and around the plant but it was still disconcerting.
