"i forgot the title ahhh RATS!!!"
I believe there's a bigger one in New Guinea.
I saw a show on Nat Geo, or one of those channels, just yesterday on the new species discovery.
I was on watch on a Navy pier in Charleston, SC when I saw Wharf Rats that size.
My Yorkie cornered an Opossum. When I got there he was just waiting for the to order to "KiLL IT".
I let it go.
id like to see a yorkie try to kill a opossum. my friends mom breeds yorkies and other toy sized dogs and the opossums and skunks will kill and eat the little ones.
Reminds me of a Stephen King short story from about 40 years ago.
Blurry, but that looks like a muskrat or coypu (river rat). Probably a coypu, which gets up to 20 lbs. That it is photographed beside a river supports the conclusion.

IIRC, the TV documentery did DNA tests, etc. and found it was a new species.
