I finally got my Norinco Commander. I am impressed that there is not a play with the slide. But the grip safety will be replaced by a high sweep beavertail and will be the first one to go. I still has to break in the gun at least a few hundred rounds to see which parts should go.

Anyway, can anybody pls give me a figure how much are the ff. parts:

Chip McCormick or Wilson High Ride Beavertail
Full Length Guide Rod and barrel bushing
Meprolight or AO Big Dot front sight
    Ashley Express Rear sight
    Flat Mainpring Housing with magwell
    Extractor
    Long Trigger
    Extended Slide release
    Extended Safety

And does anybody know a good gunsmith who does work on a Norinco?

Considering all of the above, how much am I looking at?

Thanks in advance for the replies.:)

Congrats on the Norinco. Excellent value for money and great guns. Try Col. Bayang's shop, he is very good with the Norks (he modifies the Norinco's with a higher price at Trust Trade). You can also try Jun Tuason.

    - Beavertails P2,500 to 3,500
    - Guide rod P 1,400 +
    - Bushing P 1,200 +
    - Sights P 3,500 +
    - Mainspring housing w/ magwell P 3,400 +/-
    - Extractor P 1,600 +/-
    - Long Trigger P 1,500 +/-
    - Extended Safety P 2,000 +/-

    - Fittings and adjustments probably P 3,000 to P 5,000

After it's done, sabayan na kayo ng mga Colts at STI :)

If I had a Norinco like that, I'd probably go with an Armscor beavertail, as thin and flat as an EB but costs much less, and decent pair of sights. All the rest ipapa custom or tune ko na sa smith.

    But that's just me. ;)

    Hello Darwin--

Considering the mods you plan to make, you'd have to refinish the whole gun, right? You might want to add refinishing to the estimate.

    FAlvar is right, man.
Among other horrors, the risk of an unintended slidelock
in the middle of a mag drain is just ... I dunno.
Better try it first with a cheap drop-in:

Oliver's right about Armscor parts in that sense and more.
Even cheaper if you go with SAM spares, though the fitting can
turn your hair white, then make your white hair fall out
--but it's that kind of hardcore hairstyling that turns my motor on.
    Like... Ooo la la, baby!

I bought my first 1911 just five months ago, but have virtually built
another one from scratch (surplus from EyeCutter, penduko, etc.)
since then, with a lot of fitting put into it.

It's a long-winded harangue if you want it...
but there are reasons I dislike FLGR's (full-length guide rods) as well.

Congrats on your new blaster, darwin!

I suggest bring it ti a smith machinist like metrillo
Sya na gagaawa ng lahat ng parts except for the extractor and sights, kahit anong shape at design gusto mo
    Kalahati lang gastos mo
If it's for carry, wag mo na lagyan ng guide rod

Darwin, try our company's gunsmith although taga Paranaque. If you saw the Commander at our booth during the gun show, he was the one who customized that.
