For the past handful of years, I have been meaning to become a GSSF member. You folks seem to have such a wonderful time at the events.

My wife has been encouraging me to join. I retired this past April and thoughts of becoming a GSSF member have popped up again. Well, I sent in my application this afternoon. I cannot wait to become part of this wonderful community.

I will see some of you good people at the upcoming shooting events, soon.

Awesome...<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:eek:ffice:eek:ffice" />

I joined a month ago and Columbia will be my first ever GSSF.
I'm looking forward to it, and I'm a little nervous at the same time, but I've always wanted to shoot in a match, even though I'm just average, if that.

But, I want to get as much exposure as possible and meet some that have way more experience than I do.

I also want to get into 'reloading'. I think that would be fun also.

hey Kitty (hope u don't mind me calling u that).

been reading the Glock report for like the 10th time, making sure I don't make any stupid (procedural) mistakes in Columbia.

BTW, where in these matches do they allow you to reload ur mags?

I'm not Kitty, but I'll take a stab at this one. LOL.

You can load mags *anywhere*. It's your gun you can only touch in the marked Safe Areas, and THERE you should not touch magazines/ammo.

So, Safe Areas to play with gun and nothing else.

All other places are fine for reloading mags.

Nope... people have called me much worse...

Sounds like you're doing everything you can to avoid problems. "The more you know", the greater your confidence and the better you'll shoot. And I'll say it again, things become much more clear after you've been there and observed.

Relax and have fun
Me and my wife attented our first match this past weekend in Greeley. A five hour drive for us. Got there 30 minutes early to check things out. Walk around a check out the ranges.
It is very imformal, you can come and go as you please. Take your time and visit with some of the people who have been there before.
Once you get ready to shoot, the ROs are fantastic, very helpful and will answer any questions. My wife was having trouble hitting plates, they encouraged her to relax and helped with advice.
I got alot of tips from the ROs. There is no rushing you. Just concentrate on the job and relax.....no pressure from anybody.
Hope you have as much fun as we did.

Kitty,

You are missing the joke. Anything is self explanatory once you understand it.

Thank you, Ron. You must be a very nice person. We share the same birth year. I turned 52 this past April.

Thanks, Danny. I have been following your posts for years. You are always quite helpful to everyone. No doubt that GSSF members are nice people. :winkie:

Having read the Glock Report about a million times, viewing all of the comments here, and watching a bunch of GSSF related youtube videos has been quite informative, so far.

Good luck to you, rpgman, at your first event. Have yourself a wonderful time. Looking forward to reading about your first experience.

This is going to be a blast. I get to do what I enjoy doing and meeting new people at the same time.

Thanks to everyone for making this an informative and productive board.

Andy
