Don't even get me started. I know Sheriff West, and he is a stand up guy that has had some serious problems in his tenure as sheriff. They had a group of drug runners come to the door of one of his deputies and threaten his wife. He has done some amazing things and has a real passion for securing the border. We would not have gotten some of the legislation and grants that we got without Sheriff West.

However, I wont give Sheriff West a pass on this. This may be one of the most outlandish, attention whorish things that I have seen anyone do in my career in law enforcement. I just cant picture this ending well. Ultimately though it is his office, and he makes the decisions. Best of luck to you Arvin, I hope you don't get sued because of something that Segal does.

Deputy Chief to the Chief Deputy.

Nice.

How about "Deputy Sheriff", or "Reserve Deputy Sheriff."

Maybe I'm doing it wrong. First I should get famous and THEN start applying for cop jobs? Apparently it works for him!

Is he bringing the whole posse from Louisiana? The few parts of his show I've seen it looked like he always traveled with a whole disruption unit.

I can't help but wonder his TCLEOSE status and whether he is an actual Texas Peace Officer.

$15 per hour to patrol the border and surrounding areas? All of a sudden, I don't feel quite so underpaid.

That's a mere pittance for what those good folks do every day.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.... The test has turned into a monster since I took it in 1993.
If he is willing to go out alone in full uniform in a marked unit and do actual duty, then he should be given a chance. 15.00 an hour is pretty low, but then again, it isn't the richest county in Texas.

say what you want to, but i like the guy.

he is a great shot with a 1911 and an aikido legend.

i wouldn't mind some training from him, or riding with him for a few nights.
I had to change the channel on his old TV show. He had trouble breathing getting in and out of the car. He was "that guy" who was calling the shots when it wasn't his call. His officer safety was horrible - he looked like 50 lbs of dog food shoved in a 25 lb bag in his uniform. The biggest thing that annoyed me was his accent and attempt at street slang.

I did watch the show where he shot...he was a decent shot. I'm sure he is good with the martial arts.....but I would still kick the guy off my calls. Too much of a goof.

I talked with someone in the "know" and they said that Seagal did in fact get his TCLEOSE license.
