I can't see pictures embedded in a thread

My computer was recently updated to XP. Since then I have not been able to see many of the pictures that posters embed in their messages. Some (few) I can see...most I can't. I can always open attached pictures. Can anybody help me here? Thanks...

Ditto on checking IE's setting in the security tab and check the firewall settings in XP as well.
