Several years ago I had a Beretta Mini Cougar 'D' (DAO) in 9mm that I loved. I was forced to sell it when my ex and I were both out of work for an extended amount of time. I have always missed that pistol, and have been looking for another for the last three or four years. I have found plenty of the full size, Mini's in .40 and 45, Mini's in 9mm but DA/SA, but only one Mini in 9mm DAO that the seller wanted way too much money for ($700).

A few days ago one popped up on A local Outdoors buy/sell/trade forum for a low price or trade. I offered an S&W Model 38 j-frame that I never carry or shoot anymore as a trade.

Here it is, my unicorn, my new to me Beretta Mini Cougar 'D' model 9mm.

A buddy had one those. Good gun, I just couldn't bond with it, just wasn't for me.

Congrats on getting something you've been wanting, it's always a nice feeling!

Always like hearing when one of us “gets one back,” that was lost long ago for one reason or another. Congrats

Congratulations! It’s always satisfying to fill that nagging hole in the collection.

Congrats. Those Beretta Cougars were sweet shooting pistols. My carry pistol for a couple of years was a Beretta Cougar L, which was a mid size (G19 size) between the full size and mini Cougar.

I always thought they were a cool pistol. Sorta wondered why Beretta let the concept go. I’ve never actually ever had the opportunity to shoot one.

A lot of people don’t like the rotating barrel, even though a lot of them probably never owned one. Also, it was introduced during the AWB, and since it didn’t utilize existing 92 magazines, the meant 10 round max for us peasants.

That gun was an authorized NYPD off duty gun. I looked for one for a while, finally gave up.
