It's a G23 Gen3. I bought it from a GS I visit once a week for 20 yrs.. I didn't need to handle the display gun as I'm familiar with them. The guy I'm dealing with went to the back and produced a NIB gun and we did the deal. On the way out the door I stopped off and opened the box again to make sure I had all the stuff. Instead of standard mags I had 10 rounders. So I went back and asked about it all the while thinking I'd get "that's all we have in stock". My guy went and raided another box and swapped mags for 13 rounders.
My new gun box has a white label on it. Didn't Glocks with standard capacity mags have red labels,.

I bought a NIB Gen4 G23 last summer that had 3 10rd magazines. I didn't think it a big deal at the time, but now I kinda wish it had come with the 13 shot mags.

BTW, congrats on your new G23!

To be honest I think 10 rounds of .40 cal is plenty potent. I want to pick up a 9mm barrel for mine. I've got some G19 mags I use in my G26 already. I had the option of taking a G23 in Gen 3 or 4. Had I done some more research I probably would have gone Gen 4.

Congratulations! One of my all time favorite "fighting" handguns!

I am on my third! ;).

I also agree the ten round mags are not a large handicap in the 23 as in the 22. I like to have a couple 22 mags as well as full cap G23 mags too. But if all I had was 10 rounders in this gun and caliber I would not feel overly handicapped.

    Good luck,
    CW

white label has 10rnd mags, red label has hi caps.

Though 10rnd mags are also issued, why only have 10
if 13 fit in the same size mag? May as well fill it up I say.
    Why waste the available space.

Not as potent as 13 rounds though.

Agreed. Standard G23 13rd mags are becoming increasingly hard to find though. I've been down this road before. I paid $90 ea. for two 13 rd G21 mags in '01, for example.
