It was entertaining. My in-laws don't DVR, but still TAPE their shows, and pass along the tapes. I found AI entertaining enough to get hooked. But not anymore. Ellen Degeneres? Not a chance. With Simon Cowell leaving next year the show will be pointless. Not that I always agree with Simon; clearly Simon is/was the only Judge worth a darn. I had to laugh at how contestants argued with Simon. If I was in the music biz, I would listen to Simon... some of the other judges... not so much.
Discuss .......... When was the last time the winner of any of those show bigger than the people who got contracts anyways after they got the boot?
It was entertaining. The chick who sang 'Hallelujah' was very good. I watched about 12 minutes of it....
American whatnow? Seriously, I've seen a total of 5 minute since it came on the air and that includes passing it over while channel surfing and that one time in 07 when the batteries on my remote died and it took me two minutes to find new batteries and change the channel.
<---- has a wife that watches AI and wants to keep her happy. "When momma ain't happy, no one is happy" kinda thing
The styles and such simply don't interest me. I'd rather listen to a three-fingered drunk sing a song he wrote about getting drunk and losing his fingers than hear some snotty kid sing about love.
True, I see a few episodes as my lovely girlfriend & her friends like to watch. It's pretty easy to find something better to do though!!
Auditions are hilarious, so I watch the first couple of episodes. American Idol gave us the lil lady below, I am not a fan of her music, but I sure do like the view.
