I’m tired of my polymer guns

So, lately I’m kind of bored with what pistols I have. I’ve been through a handful of polymers and just can warm up to them, other than my Ruger MK IV Lite. They’re great tools, but other than that they kind of bore me. I really enjoy my 1911s, not just because they’re steel, but also because of their history and unique actions. I’m thinking of getting rid of some polymers and want to know what I should look at; requirements being non-polymer, fun to own and shoot, and I wouldn’t argue with some history. The obvious choice seems like the Beretta 92. A 92x definitely has me intrigued.
    What would you recommend?

The CZ is also VERY interesting. The sig? Not so much. Can’t say why really, maybe it’s just not unique enough.

Sig 226/229 are very reliable and great to shoot.
    CZ 75 is very cool.
Revolvers are a good avenue to go down. I really want a 686.
The Beretta 92, pick your flavor.

Ask bac. He’s got four of everything.

Unless you want top tier, Dan Wesson offers the best bang for the buck in the 1911 field.

I would also say CZ. Got my first a couple of months ago (this) 20200116_134244.jpg

Which has lead me hunt down a Shadow 2 Orange, then will be a CZC A01-LD, then a Czechmate, then a Shadow 2 Optics Ready.

If you picked up a Sig, the best one would be a P320 XFIVE Legion. Even though it is still considered a polymer gun, it doesn't feel or shoot like one. 20200503_111925.jpg

As mentioned above, the CZ Tactical Sport Orange will warp your world. I recommend the .40 model so that you're setup for USPSA Limited.

The Dan Wesson DWX .40 is coming soon:

I'll be getting a fullsize .40 DWX without rail, when they exist.

Also rumor has it, that the later batches of Aliens might not be so darn expensive as the current first batch limited edition signature models:

I was able to pick up a Beretta 92a1 for $350 otd earlier this year. It’s one of several 92 series guns that I own, and I’d buy them all if I could at that price. One of my favorite pistols to shoot. I carry mostly polymer guns, and enjoy them as well, but they just don’t do it for me like the berettas and other non polymer pistols do. Local store has some police trade in sigs that I’m really tempted to buy.

If you find CZ interesting consider a Tanfoglio Stock 3. Stone cold reliable and competition ready for USPSA Production

CZ75 DAO. And get one in 40 caliber if you're bored with 9mm. And these days, who isn't?

Wow! Some great suggestions that weren’t on my radar.
The Alien pistol is definitely unique. Not sure about the price though.
The DWX looked very cool at first, but I think the shadow may be more my flavor. Still like the Beretta.
Even better than 40 is the 357 sig. Put that in a steel frame and I’d be interested.
