I dunno - TinFoil conducts inducted electricity! :wavey:

Should be interesting - Anyone know when the C / M / X classifications were established? I don't think they used em for The Carrington event...

I am wondering if all of our current wireless / radio / SCADA systems are prepared for this - When the classifications were established I suspect that the radio wave transmitters/receivers were more *BRUT FORCE* based than they are now - now that we have sliced up all the bandwidth to accommodate all the new radio chatter...

Perhaps a HAMM operator will chime in ...

You know this is caused by man-made galactic warming, don't you.

We need a new government agency to oversee this.

A ham operator has already chimed in.

    :wavey:

I remember several X class solar flares hitting us during the last solar maxim without any adverse effects. Satellites with sensitive electronics are typically designed with "safe modes" to prevent damage during this sort of event.

I bet this causes Pro/E to crash on me tomorrow at work. Oh well, I'll be in a meeting a 8 AM tomorrow (9AM EST) discussing a possible new hire.

Good article? Exactly which direction does this refer to?:

"A preliminary inspection of SOHO/STEREO imagery suggests that the CME will deliver a strong glancing blow to Earth's magnetic field on Jan. 24-25 as it sails mostly north of our planet."
