There appears to be an error on their web site. If you click to order, the site takes you to the FMJ product at regular price of $31.99. If you want the 180 XTP's, that's $49.99. Not quite a great deal, but not a terribly bad price if they deliver a quality product that meets their advertised velocity.

As a hand loader though, I'll pass on this one.

Just got back to this thread ... Thanks for the input.

Yeah, I'd never heard of this ammo before seeing it on the shelves of a local FFL. He had several types of HPR pistol ammo in stock: 9mm, .40S&W, .45acp and exactly one box of 10mm. That was their FMJ offering, but I couldn't find any "boxflap" fps/fpe specs on the box.

I also didn't buy it. :whistling:

After my experience shooting my first and only box of Privi 10mm thru my G29, I wanted more info. That Priv 180gn 10mm FMJ sucked worse than if I'd just bought some Brokeback Mountaineer .40S&W fodder to run thru the G29's LWD .40 tube ...

Hence, my post to the group here. If true, 1270fps from the barrel of a real-world 10mm pistol is pretty decent for range ammo.

Once that's been validated, then it's a question of comparative price. Underwood might still be the better deal.

But it's also nice to see other 10mm ammo-makers coming on line, unless it's nothing more than another version of .40-level crapola.

I have this ammo in front of me right now 10mm 180 gr TMJ. It will be in my next video soon. Was on sale at a excellent price and is suppose to be full power. We will see soon.

Looking forward to your video. I picked up several boxes of this TMJ given the price. To my completely uncalibrated hand, it sure feels close to full power. I'm basing the comparison when shooting the HPR TMJ back-to-back with Underwood 180 FMJ.

    Thanks!

    Yeah, I agree, drsjr1969.

Please post here when you've chronographed it. Thanks!

I have been through over 600 rounds of Scottsdale HPR 180grain TMJ and love it. I paid $20.99 for each box of 50 when I ordered the first 600, and received 400 more this past Friday at the same price. I have never chrono'd their ammo, but intercooler has and the numbers averaged out to 1283fps IIRC.

This ammo feels hot, especially when shot through my CCO. Brass is good quality and as they advertise, the powder burns clean. I have no problems ordering this at $21/50 rounds.

I'll be making a new video over the weekend. It will be the biggest I've done so far with 12-13 new rounds to be added to my spreadsheet.

Mostly underwoods large selection of 10mm now but also HPR, Trident, and precision one.

I got a few boxes of the TMJ stuff back on Black Friday when they ran free shipping. I should have bought more. It is good stuff, full power, brass ejects out 15-20ft, and accurate enough (that is, more than me). I have reloaded their brass without issue. At under $22/50rd I highly recommend. Sure beats the circus that is BVAC 10mm over the last few months.
