I have a HP Pavilion dv4000 and really don't like the touch pad scroll. My problem is it isn't as smooth as my previous notebook touch pad. When I scroll it is a choppy motion instead of a fluid one. I have tried changing the settings in both my control panel and IE until I am blue in the face and still end up with the same thing. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers and still no help. Does anyone have any advise for me or is this just the way that HP makes it?

i'd advise you purchase and use a mouse. seriously.

if that's not an option, you could try taking the laptop apart and unpluging, then replugging the wire that connects the touchpad to the motherboard; but I wouldn't hold my breath on that working.
