Thanks for all the compliments guys.

Christopher: I used RIT scarlet red. I used the liquid and mixed the polyurethane and the dye in a mason jar and stirred it real good (DON'T shake poly as it will fill with air bubbles, always stir) and applied I "think" 4 coats. I put it on with a cheap foam brush and did light coats.

After my experience though I would go with the powdered rit dye if you can find it. Mix it with just a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol to turn it into a liquid and then mix it with the poly. It seems to mix much better that way. The liquid dye was a real pain to get to mix with the poly.

Oh and I used semi gloss.

This is kind of a side note, but where was that pistol grip made? Looks like one of the Commie Block surplus versions. Which looks nice on the gun but unless you added something made in the US the gun won't be 922 compliant then. The Tapco pistol grip is one of the US parts for the WASR.

He will be ok if he uses a TAPCO slant brake.

He will definitely be ok if he uses a TAPCO magazine!

Yea, that's why I was wondering if he added another US part to the gun.

Very nice looking stocks from all of you. I love wood grain, but alas mine is not.

I just bought a Rommy G grip to put on my gun. I think I'm one of the few people who like them.

I was worried it wouldn't come out okay at first because of the previous dark brown stain. But after sanding it down to fresh wood with a nice grain. I think it will come out good.

Hopefully I'll have some pictures is that next week.

Thank you! I put on a magpul pistol grip since these pics so it kinda threw off the look but it feels SOOO much better now. I also just ordered a nice russian bakelite mag to add to the look and to say I own a bakelite mag. LOL I've always wanted one.
