My brother is a dentist and spends most of the day sitting and leaning over. Iwb is not really an option for him but he'd really like to carry. I'm thinking ankle holster might be the most comfortable and easiest access. Is the g26 to big and heavy for ankle carry? Could somebody recommend a holster?

It's doable but not everyone will take to it. Might also consider a j frame or PM9. I have a Galco Ankle Glove for my G26. They make it for all the aforementioned.

Thanks for the input. I think a J frame might be the way to go.

Galco Ankle Glove is the best ankle holster.

I've carried my G26 in an Uncle Mike's ankle holster and it was okay. I picked up a S&W 642 J-frame and bought a Galco AG to go with it and the combination is great. The Galco makes a big difference and I plan on getting one for my G26 this year.

My plan is to wear the G26 in an ankle holster, when it is not practical to wear an IWB/OWB holster and the 642 will be carried in a pocket holster as a BUG.

I carry a G27 in an Apachi wrap around ankle holster on duty and works great...I personally think its all in the holster you choose...I tried an Uncle Mikes ankle holster and it printed and stuck out way to far for my pant leg...

I carried a G26 in an ankle holster 8-10 hours per day for 3 years on security job. Hardly knew it was there after a couple of days.

Another +1 for the DeSantis Apache ankle holster. I also got the additional knee strap for extra security. It's a comfortable rig. I also can carry a .357 2" revolver because the Apache is elastic and can fit a couple of different, small guns.

I've done it but it was not very comfortable. If I am going to ankle carry I will usually lean more towards my air-weight j-frame, I forget its there after awhile.

Not a fan of ankle carry ... Gave it a shot with my bug at the time (P238)... Just could never get comfortable with it!

here is a thought use the 26 in a small of the back holster, such as made by galco. then he should transition to biger shirts to avoid printing of a bigger lab coat if he uses that that way the holster is off the ankle. my denstist usesw scrubs so a bigger size would hide the 26

When I first got my g26 (it was my only gun at the time) I tried that as an alternative method using the galco ankle glove (a quality holster) and found it was too heavy for me, keeping in mind I'm fairly small framed guy. If you are a bigger guy it might be fine.

Later I acquired a airweight J-frame and got an galco ankle glove for that and it is absolutely no comparison. You could forget it was there.

Very doable. Don't skimp on the holster, comfort will be everything.

You'll unintentionally work on your homie gangsta swaggah limp for the first few days.
