My mother-in-law (may she forever Rest in Peace) was born in Harlan, KY. Still has family there.
My wife's grandfather was killed in a coal mine cave-in, years ago. (Easter Sunday, 1939.)

We visit a couple of times a year.
Good people. Not at all like that television show.

ETA: The Pawn Shop in Harlan has a surprisingly good selection of 'stuff' to bring home.
(Blame Obama for that crap....... killing the coal mining industry.)

There is (or was) a store by that exact same name in McCaysville, GA (about in the middle of the state E-W, and just a mile or two south of the GA/TN state line).

Actually, in Kentucky, nearly all pharmacies sell liquor. Rite-Aid used to be my main liquor store until Walgreens bought them out - Walgreens and other pharmacies charge too much for liquor.

I didn't notice whether this one sold liquor, but the county, outside the city limits of Corbin, is dry, so if it didn't it may be because it was outside the city limits.
Walgreens actually has decent prices on wine/liquor, you just have to buy what's on sale. Cheaper than most liquor stores around here anyway.
