    Hi:

I have an old computer which I would like to give away. It's got Windows 98 on it and not very much else.
Ideally, I'd like to reformat and reinstall but I understand that Microsoft is not supporting Windows 98 anymore. I'd rather keep the current installation with the updates and service packs than to just reinstall the OS from the old disk and not have the updates. That sort of leaves me with having to uninstall and/or delete as much as possible and then "wiping" the free space with a program which won't wipe the entire drive.

Can anyone point me towards such a (hopefully FREE) program?

Thanks, in advance, for the help!

I think they still have the updates on line but just are not creating any new updates. You can also buy online or at computer shows a DVD that contains all the updates for about $10.
