How to turn jpeg to gif...

    There must be more than just renaming..Any tips....Thanks.

    You need a tool like PhotoShop. Read the jpg in and write it back out as a gif.

    If running Linux there are a bunch of tools like GIMP, ImageMagick, XV. One or more of these might be available in a M$ Windblows version.

    Take a look at some of the graphic packages that come with Windows. For example, Paint can do what you need to do.

    Firehand Ember is also a good one. It's photo viewing software with some basic editing tools. The ultimate tool is Adobe Photoshop, if you can afford it (or know someone who will burn you a copy).

    convert mypic.jpg mypic.gif

    That's if you use imagemagick.

    The Gimp, XV, and other will do this as well.

    That was the ticket, thanks, great program and the price is right!

    FYI, im loading new wallpapers on my Nextel phone and it only takes them in gif.
