I'm, either buying or selling a couple of thousand rds of ammo a month, use UPS They aren't shy about shipping it, don't charge you a fortune, and I've found about 1/2 the UPS guys are also into guns, so you make some good contacts as well. As with guns they give it priority to get it through the system quick, and I've never had a lost shippment, can't say the same for my dealings with FedEx in all respects.DON'T ever try shipping it through the Post office unless you want a visit from the BAFT or your local sherif when its found with their scanners.

    For reference
(I know he asked about ammo but I thought I'd clear up shipping for handgun)
I ALWAYS Use Fed Ex 3 day Express Saver. For average handgun and mags (Just over 6 pounds) With $800 worth of insurance it runs $25 and change....best deal around
You DO have to ship it at a major hub tho....your local fed ex / kinko's wont accept gun shipping, and it MUST be shipped to an FFL.

I never ship ammo so i have no idea on cost.

    all the best
