    You can download a program called Super Pi. It calculates Pi to the X number of decimal places.

    I got 41 seconds for calculating to 1 million places.


    What's your time for calculating to 1 million places?



    Hint: the less programs you have open, the less time it takes.

    Wow, how cool is that? I got it in 48 seconds. I think I'll try it in safe mode to see if there is a difference.

    In safe mode, it ran in 1 min 02 sec. Not what I expected!?!:freak:

    'Fraid I have no logical explanation for that. Hmmm...

    Safe mode eliminates many of the protected and 32bit mode driver and app's that are need for the machine to run at full speed.

    you might want to try looking up blackviper and eliminate some of the idiotic unused XP services and try again.

    50 seconds, but was only reaching a max processor usage of 50%. Odd.

    I at one time had it down to 36 but I now have a 2.8 gig P4 OC'd to 3.1 with a 533 FSB from the 3.2 800 FSB OC'd to 3.4.

    34 seconds on an AMD A64 3700+ overclocked by 400mhz. with 2gb. of ram and nvidia Evga 7800GT overclocked. My HP laptop with 2.8 P4 and 896mb of ram took 1 min.:freak:
