Unless if the single stack division will come to a reality, I've been pondering on the thought of moving up to standard div. instead since not every shoot has an ss category. How much would I probably spend if Armscor ang base gun? Yung needed things lang, next time na pa japorms ng baril. hehe. :)

remember when you were asking what pistol to get and we advised you to go straight to a hi-cap .40???

well, we told you so, and you didn't listen!

.40 hi-cap armscor ranges from 24k up, depending on the finish and parts used. the premium pistol (medallion) is now 40k++ range already

I remember. Hehehe. Was still lurking then when I saw this piece of sound advise. Reckon that's why gunstores make a lot of money from us.

I also remember seeing a thread recommending that you buy an Armscor 9mm which is at P21k and then buying a .40 barrel for P2k to save on cost. I dont know if this is a good advice since you still have to pay the gunsmith for the conversion but I think its worth looking into para walang sermon later on.

    :)

    Yep +100. ;)

Save your money now, enjoy the gun and enjoy shooting. Off the top of my head I know at least 3 singlestack shooters dito sa Manila na kayang mag top 10 at any given shoot against the hi-cap shooters ('pang apat ako kung sakali...nyahahaha, mey parating na bagyo!!!!!;f;f;f;c )

CDO ka di ba? Try to watch at least a Level 3 match dyan sa area mo even if it means a few hour's bus ride. Sure ako mero'ng contingent ang Davao nyan. You'll then see some great singlestack shooters.

Kung gusto mo talaga mag upgrade, start buying the parts for an Open gun. ;) Dun din ang punta mo nyan later on. ;f

I guess I did deserve that sermon since I'm really stubborn. ;f I shot two standard guns over the last weekend, a para and an armscor. Kaya lang medyo matagal na yung guns nila so they can't say whats the price of that now. What bothers me most though is the grip is a bit too thick, thats why I went to single stack in the first place. But the more I shoot with standard shooters, the more I think about high caps and less reloads. ;g ;Q Well, guess I have to save up for an open gun (which will take quite a while to save up). ;e

Eye Cutter, maitanong ko lang, with deep curiousity and keen interest, what is so special about the .40?

Medyo old-fashioned kasi ako eh, my type is the .45 or .38 / .357 mag.

But if the FBI, as I understand, has chosen as their standard the .40, then it must be indeed hot!

    Please illuminate.

    Maraming salamat.

    Gumagalang,
    Mao.

For competition, .40 is the standard in Standard class due to capacity and predictable subjective recoil.

    Kiddo,

Grip feel between a single stack and hi-cap is just an initial reaction, but when you start using a well-contoured hi-cap grip, you will not even be bothered by it.

I got a chance to use my brother's Bul M5, and I felt comfortable with it when I competed with it. I'm a single-stack traditionalist, and it was my first time to really use a hi-cap pistol.

But for carry guns, I'll stick with the single stack.

the .40 is a young cartridge. it was developed in the early 90's. i think it came out in 92 or 93. it was a compromise round developed by smith and wesson to meet the power of the .45 and .357 ammo and high capacity of the wonder nines! best of both worlds, really...

Who customized it for you Chie? :) Just curious.

I just might go back to shooting standard again when I will be joining the ranks of senior shooters mid next year. HeHeHe ;f

Or I might go to the dark side as per suggestion of batangueno. ;P

Am currently evaluating all the pros and cons.;Q
