So they figured out that the firearm market is depressed and other merchandise does better right now. So their revenue per square foot is higher on the other goods.

This has nothing to do with any moralizing, only profit margins.

I thought they already had gotten out of gun sales.

I don’t shop there, however I did order a pair of Brooks running shoes on their site...great deal.

Whoever picks their retail locations around here must have been poached from The Gap. Every location is attached to a mall (high rent) and packed with clothing and shoes with a sprinkling of sporting equipment on the outside walls. I do not believe the locations around here have ever sold firearms, ammo, fishing equipment...anything beyond swimming goggles and a baseball glove.

If you need a team jersey or some shoes...Head to the mall/Dicks I guess

I just found out that Dicks reports today. I wonder if that news yesterday was intended as a smoke screen for bad news?

I hope they had another bad quarter.

They want everyone to know how WOKE they are. I believe I heard they are to post their numbers after firearms were removed tomorrow.

The Dick's near me is a hundred yards from a Bass Pro Shop.
They haven't had a gun or any ammo in a decade & almost zero business either..
I wonder how they even stay running??
Just a matter of time till they close & when they have the 50%-70% sale it'll be a bunch of junk for sale which is what they have now.. Nothing..
    Good Bye, You Dick's..

I honesty cannot recall the last time I entered one of their stores. It was back home, so at least half a decade, realistically edging closer to the full decade mark.

J Doo, they didn't do so well down here in Texas. Way too high on Firearms prices. Interesting to know they may have learned something about firearms sales for your area, however. Thanks.

I buy certain cleaning supplies there still, as well as the little silicone oil cloth they carry. There's certain things they have the others don't. I don't see any reduction in inventory at all. That store never did hit like Academy (across the street) did, but this site is the only place I ever heard anything about them being anti-gun.
Kansas is not real anti-gun. And we don't have jihadist sharias, druggies taking injections or crapping in bus stop booths either.

The short answer to the OP's original question: Dick's will continue their behavior until the customers put a stop to it with their wallets...That is what these corporations respect and understand...nothing else

I dropped them the first time they didn’t want my business. Only thing I really bought there was cheap cases of birdshot for busting clays. Will get them elsewhere per their wishes.

If guidance and performance is related to "per share", does buying back shares finesse the numbers?
