I live in Broward County. We have 56,821 active licencees. How many are in your county? Six? Yes, I'm an activist. Yes, I'm a patriot. Yes, I've been in the armed forces. Yes, when The Colors are raised, and The Anthem is played, I get tears in my eyes. I live in Florida. But California needs more like me. This is the way it should be.... http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/stats/cw_active.html If you want to join us, you can. You can't carry in your own Commie state, but the Florida license is good for you in 30 states, even without being a Florida resident. You're good to go in Florida plus most of this list of states... http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/news/concealed_carry.html Note that Colo, Mich, N.H., and S.C. require you to be a florida resident to carry there. We recently were extremely disgusted to lose reciprocity with Nevada. Our licensing requirements are the same, so we had reciprocity. But when Florida made our licenses good for seven years instead of five, they threw us out. If they were really worried about that extra two years, then they woulld have waited five years, and then thrown us out. That's okay. At a time when they're desparately in need of tourist dollars, that just makes fewer Floridians who will visit Nevada with their money. If you want to qualify to join us, just take a basic firearm course of some kind, where you are given a certificate of completion. The license costs you 117 bucks, and you get your application and instructions from here... (note that this is an actual online order form... it's best to receive the forms in the mail because of the special fingerprint card... you must be printed by an actual employee of a LEO agency...) http://licgweb.doacs.state.fl.us/FORMS/FormsRequest790.html This license can be extremely useful if you travel, even if you don't want to carry concealed. In the legal states, It generally allows you to have your sidearm anywhere in the vehicle, instead of having to unload and lock it away somewhere. It makes you much less likely to be breaking laws if you're pulled over for any reason. I must note that, as long as they're issuing to non-residents, Utah also has an excellent license. Enjoy.
