Or the colonies before the United States? Is your family recent or been here a while?

Seems to be appropriate for the upcoming Independence day holiday.

On my mom's side(haven't found the family tree for dad's side) the majority of the family(that has been traced) came over in the mid 1600s, mainly to Connecticut. There are records for one member for having been a soldier in King Phillip's War.

The latest arrival were in the mid 1800s.

On my dad's side, the first immigrant was from Cornwall, England in the late 1700's. I want to say 1776.

Some of my family was here before your ancestors left Europe:tongueout: But, just yesterday, I was going through some of the records my Dad had The newest ancestor of mine on either side arrived in 1856. I have one family bible recording births to 1836 but the family was here long before that.

My dad's side has been in the US for about 100 years, but the family has been in North America since the 1520s.

Archaeologists think my mom's side may have been in the four corners area since 1200 BCE.

My parents came over from an island of the Azores around 1977 so we haven't been here long. My dad still has family over there and the rest made their way to Toronto, Canada and he was the only one to stay in Rhode Island. My mother's family came over together and still all live relatively close by.
