I'm in the process of cobbling together "FrankenGlien" from spare parts I've got lying around. It's going to be pretty over the top. ;P G22 slide, g24 barrel and comp, Carver, and an Aimpoint Comp so far. My question is this: It's already pretty heavy from the optics, but would more in the form of a brass magwell and tungsten guide rod speed me up because of reduced recoil or slow me down because of increased swing weight from target to target?

Also, anyone know where to get a SS recoil rod that'll go all the way to the end of the barrel?

Its a personal thing. The extra weight will soften and flatten the gun but it might add a little to transitions. You will need to run to comparitive drills to know for sure.

    if you want heavy

look beyond the ss recoil rod

you need to hang a 4 inch piece of pipe filled with lead shot from the lightrail (use weaver rings I'd imagine)
