I gotta ask, cause it would be a good match with my G17, as it inexpensive and made from the same "plastic" that we all know and love.

This is a picture of my G23 with an M3 tactical Illuminator. It's very bright which you can use to stun, sweep a room and then turn off light immediatley engagine utilizing muzzle flash for follow up shots. Or you can switch it on an leave it on. It will fit any glock model and comes with a warranty. Check it out. Btw you can also get on with a built in laser if you want that sort of thing, but the shoot where the light is pointing works just as well as a laser.

Anyhow just wanted to share my experience.

I bought my G-23 back in July of '04 and I bought my Glock tactical light at the same time. I've used it on the 23 and later the 17 and the 21. I have dispatched a couple of possums and one armadillo using it. If a bg ever comes into my house unannounced I'm sure it will serve me well.

I bought the Glock Tac Light with Laser as my very first add-on to my 23. It is dimmable. So you can adjust the light to the conditions you want. I personally prefer FULL brightness to act as a blinding surprise to the BG. The laser acts as my quick-reference aiming point, especially in a high stress situation. I also use the laser to practice my trigger pull. I would highly recommend this modification to anyone that will use there Glock for HD. The wife loves the fact that all she has to do is flip it on, and put the little red dot on the target. BTW, the switch is located as such that you can turn it on, or off, while holding the weapon with both hands.

My only concern would be the xenon bulb in the glock light. Surefire and streamlight both have LED lights...virtually indestrucable and you never need to worry about a burn out. You can get a streamlight TLR-1 for about the same price as the glock light and get a LED bulb. Just my $.02 worth.

That being said, I own a surefire X200A, Streamlight TLR-1 and 2. The surefire is my favorite, but the streamlight TLR-1 is a close second and much, much more affordable. I actually like the switch better on the TLR-1 than the X200.

I would HIGHLY recommend the Streamlight TLR-1 ot TLR-2 over the Glock light.

Sorry, I love Glock, but they need to stick with what they know best, guns.

I wrote about the TLR-1 here.
I am very happy with mine.

For those of you who don't know the M3 Tactical illuminator which pictured in my previous post is a product of Streamlight and has an LED.

I own the Glock light, mainly because it was on sale. While it is well built and rugged, it has a poorly designed reflector and will not put out a properly focused light beam. This isn't particular to my light, I've seen it on all Glock lights I've tested. I'm keeping it, but all future lights I purchase will be from other manufacturers.

I have to agree with those recommending the TLR-1. My TLR-1 puts out a much better focused beam than my Glock light, the LED bulb in the TLR-1 lasts forever, and battery life is more than twice that of the Glock light. The Glock light isn't all bad, it sticks out less (about 1/8") from the front of a G17/G19 size gun, seems lighter in weight, and I like the quick install/removal system. All in all though, I think the TLR-1 is a better light.

    Just my .02 ;)

What are your thoughts on the M3X? Anyone use it? How does it compare to the standard M3 or Glock light?

I picked mine up today and love it. I'm kicking myself for not buying one a few years ago.

A while back I bought one of the first Glock Tactical Lights and had problems with it shutting down. Glock sent me a new updated Glock Tactical Light and there were a few diffrences right off the bat. For one thing it worked alot better and some of the controls were changed. The focus beam was better then the original. My original light came in a card board box with hebrew writing. My new one came in a plastic holder with extra battries and a extra bulb.

    Glock Rocks:thumbsup:
