Looking at the schedule, and I might as well be in the boonies....

    Orlando match is ~200 miles.
A number of other ones are 500-600+ miles.

Wondering what it takes to get something in S. Florida added....?

We drive over 700 miles to some matches!:wow:

To get a match in your area there needs to be a shooting range with enough bays to support the setups and volunteers to help run the match. The form is on the gssfonline web sight.

The Topton, PA match is in the Boonies, but it's only 30 miles away from me.

My longest drive was from home to Ft, Benning, GA, a distance of 570 miles one way. I normally try to attend matches within a 400 mile radius.

In 2008 at the Conyers match Stephan B. came from Munich Germany and shot the match. What is that....some 4,000 miles one way:wow:

I can shoot 7 matches this year, and for all but one... drive no more than 4 hours one way to do it (so that's about 250 miles or so). For that seventh one, it'll be about 5.5 hours one way.

Pretty cool, I think. But I don't live in Orlando. ;)

i did it once from home to hallsville to brighton to home. i'm not sure it was fun or not.i didn't keep track of the miles but it'd been about 23 hours driving i ithnk to make the loop.

i drove from san angelo texas to knoxville for the first match there. huntsville, alabama to milwaukee for the match there in '08. from home to pensacola match to mc comb, mississippi for work then to creedmoor for the first match there. i've drove a long way for a few seconds shooting.

I flew From Flint Michigan to Cumming Georgia
It was great we shot a match at Bullseye in Cumming Ga
Really nice bunch of great shooters.

I had the newbe jitters and I am in my 60's
My 41 year old son lives here in Cumming Ga.and will be continuing his shooting
We used to shoot a lot when they were learning in their early Teens .

It was put away for a while and now my sons an I are in it hot and heavy.

I used to shoot combat with a 1911 and the boys entered bullseye with revolvers.

A special Thanks to Bulls Eye Marksman club and GSSF for a great time.
