Replacing the sights on my Austrian proof marked Glock 19 and it has a metal staked front sight.

How the heck do I remove it?

    Punch and big hammer?

If you have no intention of putting it back on just grab it with some vice grips or other pliers and yank it like a 13 year old on free Showtime week.

Yanking didn't work to well, the vice grips kept slipping off.

But a nice little twist did the trick and sheared the staked portion right off.

Thanks, now I can complete installation of my Ameriglo Pro Operators.
