Just made one. Simple. Good Caesar dressing, fresh Romaine lettuce, grated Parmesan cheese, Texas size croutons.

    Yummy.

Good Caesar dressing to me should have a hint of anchovy.

I Just used Kraft Classic Caesar dressing and dip.

Surprisingly good. Hint or more of anchovy, but not overpowering.

And some tomato and cucumber slices on the side:wavey:
But that is a bastardized version-the OG version is just fine.
    I love Caesar salads:eat:

I'll tell you what's really good.
Creamy Ceasar dressing with Balsamic Vinaigrette added.
I first tried it a a pizza joint, in the Tacoma area, called Ferrelli's.
    DA BOMB!

If it doesn't have raw eggs it's not really a Caesar salad. :whistling:

Much can be forgiven if your Caesar is served on a chilled glass plate.

Add chicken, shrimp or anchovy. Good to go!

That and 3 or 4 anchovies, at least. The more, the merrier.

I wonder how many people realize that anchovies aren't in Ceasar salad? It's actually Worcestershire sauce that adds the anchovy flavor.

Where do you get this info.? Nearly all Caesar dressing recipes call for some form of finely chopped Anchovies or Anchovy paste.

From Julia Child who interviewed the daughter of Chef Caesar regarding his recipe. The salad was supposed to be a light salad to let the lettuce show it's flavor, he felt the anchovies could overpower it.

That one sounds pretty good. As long as it's cold romaine with cold dressing, good cheese, and fresh croutons, I'll probably like it.

It's actually been fairly recently that I found that I like Caesar salads.

In the original dressing the hint of anchovy came from Worcester sauce.

Do you pasteurized eggs or just roll the dice? I think salmonella in its current form was not present in the eggs used for the original sauce.
