How do you carry (condition-wise)

    Ako laging naka-chamber with loaded mag in my Glock 19 and soon my Kel-Tec P3AT (inaayos pa papers and PTC!)

    Any comments on whether you should top off the mag or leave one out? Some people say that the mag spring could be damaged if fully loaded all the time...but then again, it was meant to hold that amount of ammo, so it should be able to handle it, right?

    When i used to carry a long long time ago, my G17 was chamber loaded. I don't top off the mag anymore because when i unload the gun I don't know where to put the extra round since the mag is already full. :)

    There should be no issue by keeping the mag full. Keeping the mag spring compressed should not weaken it, but when the spring is compressed and uncompressed then that's the time your spring will weaken.

    In the oh-so-short year that I tried it...
    I topped-off all the time, until I noticed that it
    seemed to increase the chances of a FTRTB or even an
    outright FTF on my Armscor Practical.

    Paul's point about the odd round having no roost
    when you unload is definitely valid.

    Condition?
    Chambered, Cocked and locked
    Carrying without one in the pipe seems silly to me,
    no matter what some Israelis think.

    If I ever do carry again, it'll be a 5-shot hammerless
    .357m snub, hopped up on .38 +P's.

    condition 1 on double action pistols for me. But for single-action pistols, I'm not to keen on carrying cocked and locked.

    well, when i had a semiauto for carry, initially i carried condition 2, condition 3 when doing a mexican for short walks to the store.

    when i moved to a wheelie, well, typical wheelie with disconnector carry, cylinder fully loaded hammer down in an IWB strongside

    I carry my GLocks with the trigger covered and one in the pipe.

    round in pipe & hammer down for DA/SA Sig P228
    Israeli style for Glocks and HS2000/SA XD

    on my 1911 during the old days, its always chamber loaded but hammer down with the mag at full capacity. With the my glock it has been condition 1. The mags I just unload them every 6 months or so then fill 'er up again. Just to cycle it.

    Chambered and with my finger on the trigger ready to mozambique any yahoo who steps up saying it ain't safe to carry chambered 'cos glocks got no safety!;)

    during the days when ptc was issued free (daw) and a lot easier to get, i carried a 1911 single stack 45 in condition one in an iwb holster.

    Condition 2 in a bellyband holster for my standard pistol positioned on the left side with polo shirt tucked in leaving only a button or 2 open for quick access
