There was a guy I knew that had an old Boxer. He also had a Harley, I forget what model.
It was around 1991, he got broken into. They pushed the BMW out of the garage so they could get to the Harley. They stole it and left the old Beemer behind.
The owner was pretty mad, but said. "At least they only stole the Harley".
I was not necessarily in agreement, but as long as he was good with it, who am I to say anything.

Of course I am not naïve. I have an Ultra Classic and a Gold Wing. I was pulling your very available chain. Are you really that far into denial? :animlol:

It would largely depend on the year and model Beemer. I had an ugly, hairy, nerdy, pot smoking friend 40+ years ago who had one of these old girls. The looks, sound and ergonomics most of all stole my heart.

I`m not familiar with BMW, other than they have a huge beamerfest at the Watkins Glen race track every summer. Luckily they are gone quickly.... the snobs come here and just treat people like chit. Kinda the same crap everybody deals with when the bikeweek BS comes every summer.

Florida did away with the noise ordnance for music so how could they ticket for pipes? Mine had glass packs.

I wonder if the local HD dealer would treat me better if I were to roll up on my Goldwing to buy parts for a Buell?

What’s ironic is that if it’s too loud then you’re probably young with good hearing, still, LOL!

Well, if they dont like your money, go somewhere else...lol. I use to ride my yamaha to the harley dealer to pick up some small stuff when i needed to. I love my yamaha as much as i do my harley, and no dealer can change my mind about it. The dealer needs your/my money. Some dealers need to check their attitudes... its not about what you ride, it should be, do you ride.

I have never thought my boat or motorcycle was a losing fad . I had a boat for over 20 years and enjoyed it every summer that I had it . The reason for getting rid of it was how crowded the lake got . I have had some type of bike most of my life and I have never thought that was a losing fad either . I enjoy both . I recently moved and I am close to some big water now and I am considering getting another boat if I don’t buy a place in Florida .

The easiest way to tell he's an idiot is hanging off his bars. Those get back whips are the dumbest trend that the Harley crowd has latched on to. Maybe not, because big wheel baggers are pretty ghey too. But the whips are pure dumbassery.

Actually, I have ridden my GW to the Harley dealers in Austin and also in San Antonio. My wifes preferred riding boots are Harley branded, and they always have a good selection of riding gloves.
They always treat me well enough. They poke fun at my rice burner and I give it right back about the VibraKings. Just good natured ribbing.
My money is just as green as anyone else's I guess.

My Harley’s, boat and trucks haven’t been a fad at all either. Didn’t mean for everyone. For a lot of people, they are.

One of my biggest pet peeves are the ape hangers on the loud Harley video. They are the absolutely worst thing you can do for steering control (other than the ridiculously extended front forks on some customs). Worthless in a parking lot and dangerous on the road.
But I do like the dutch riding clogs in front of the BMW. That R69 is a sweet looking old girl. In my opinion (FWIW) older BMW twins have a lot of character. And I always wanted a hot rodded mid 70's R90S in burnt orange.

Ok, so you own an Ultra Classic and Gold Wing baggers - I own an '09 Sportster and an '05 Hayabusa LE...now, what's your point again?

    And "denial" of what exactly?

A Hayabusa is EFI and it is not an actual choke. The proper term would be fuel enrichment circuit.

100% guaranteed that an EFI Harley has a fuel enrichment circuit.

But it does not change the fact, no matter what it is called, that a Hayabusa does not need 20 minutes at idle to warm the oil.

Ok. A Harley takes some time, 20 minutes? No but it takes longer than your Hayabusa.
