I like the "new" country. It reminds me of the early 70's rock when you could actually hear a melody and understand the words.

You folks should give Bluegrass a try-it's what country used to be.
No electricity, great harmony singing and best of all, NO DRUMS!

I know it's not what "country" claims to be these days, but Johnny Cash is the BEST example of what I'd consider to be REAL COUNTRY. Just a simple country boy.. no bullcrap.. no overly mixed in rock influences.. the man was PURE.

Johnny Cash is my favorite, but you can't forget Willie Nelson either. Especially when it's just Willie and his guitar and nothing else.

Johnny Cash,Lyle Lovette,Hank Williams (Sr) and the Mavericks are a few country-ish acts I can handle...I enjoy most of the gals like Shania Twain and others too-the Videos ,that is.(with the sound on 'Mute')

Can anybody recommend some good Conway Twitty. It used to make my buddy cry, but I don't know which one. That's good enough for me.

I only listen to real country that is at least 20 years old. Nothing with smoke and jumping around on stage.
