No way. No how. All they do is drop their weapons and surrender. If anyone needs a drop safety, it's the French.

People talk smack about Glock, but they figured all this out 36 years ago.

That’s the point, fired when dropped.

Earlier this year, a new lawsuit has been filed against SIG by a guy alleging the firearm discharged inside the holster hitting him in the leg. The lawsuit cites other instances of SIG firearms going off without pressing the trigger.

I highly recommend reading this thread on PF, where there are some real subject matter experts to find some very interesting information on the subject of the safety of this firearm.

You could issue the G17 Gen 1, with the six part upgrade, to the US Military, and they would serve well for decades.

Not true. All the pistols delivered to the military included the trigger fix. The Army sent those M17s back to SIG as surplus because the Army changed the spec from all coyote tan controls to black. And they also changed the slide color.

I've yet to see any proof that a 320 has fired without the trigger being pulled.
If it's possible, it should be able to be replicated just like the drop issue.

People talk smack about Taurus, but I'd carry a G2C or a G3 before a p320. Both of the former have better track records.

Unfortunately, some folks have a selective memory when it comes to Glock. They seem to swallow the 'Perfection' logo as gospel. The truth is that Glock has had a multitude of issues over the years and many of them wide spread.

In truth, the G2 series of Taurus has a better track record than many pistols. I once pointed out that it had a better track record than the Sig P365. It does, but man it triggered a few folks.

I had a very nice P320 several years back prior to the 'voluntary' upgrade. It was nice. It shot nice. I liked many of the features on it. But after a few months I traded it off for something else and really have never had any interest in obtaining another one.

    it’s called making a point.

but shall we count these voluntary upgrades?

And yet, just recently Glock released the "M" (a new wrinkle on the G17), and the first customer (IMPD) had slides flying off of them!

SIG goofed on the 320. But just as we allow the G19 or "M" from Glock to be trusted after abysmal launches, we owe the same to other gun companies.

The question isn't whether the "M", G19, P320, etc. had troubles at launch. The question is whether they were satisfactorily resolved. SIG's issues and fixes were in progress before the US distribution of those weapons was underway. Has anyone heard evidence of these P320 guns firing when dropped AFTER the fix? I am not aware of any.

The difference being that Sig has had 36 years of Glock experience to use to get it right the first time. They didn't reinvent the wheel. Did they seriously not know that a heavy trigger with no dingus was a bad idea? Incidentally, what non-recalls has Glock done for things similar to what Sig is going through?

Glock has the MOS and Taurus has the POS.

I’m staying away from these SIG and Glock offerings just to be safe.
