I didn’t mean to imply that you are inferior. You are probably doing much better than me. What I mean is and what I keep saying is that clothes or watches do not make the man. You say it does. You live in a different world where people stare at wrists first and pay attention to you later. That’s a shame. In my world I downplay my watch and keep it quiet. My watch is for me, not them. I’ve been known to lie and say it is a fake. Again, it is for my pleasure not theirs.

That’s why I have my pleasure watches and my business watches. Just like I have my pleasure clothes versus business clothes, which is something that you can’t seem to grasp.

there are uniforms to certain businesses. You come to a construction site wearing your Gucci Gears and no matter how expensive they are, you look stupid and lose all credibility.

You gone to a board room meeting looking like something out of a Sears/JC Penney catalogue and no matter how competent you are, you already lost credibility.

even soldiers have different uniforms for different applications.

I’m not arguing that. I’m not really arguing at all. I totally understand that you want to look good. Cool. Just understand that not everyone adheres to that mindset. Some of us shine on our personalities and not our clothes. I wear a nice watch to work everyday because it makes me feel good. It helps me time things. Nobody even knows what it is. You do it to impress others. There is a difference. Maybe someday you’ll be able to break away from conformity and be yourself. Best of luck.

Why not do what you do and be happy and let the other guy, whom I happen to agree with vis a vis this topic, do his thing sans the belittling words?

You’re right. I didn’t mean to belittle anyone. I grew up with a couple people that were obsessed with outward appearances. It turned me off.

I should have noted you are a good guy and I like your posts nearly always......this series seemed a little off, nothing more than that. It's all good.

They really inspected the Omega at our dinner. Not mechanically....just fit and finish wise. They obsessed over hash marks lining up with corresponding marks and such. I remember they said their watch was superior mechanically but Omega was the pinnacle of fit and finish.

Side note: We have exclusive, North American distribution of Seiko guitar tuners and metronomes for all of the Americas. Hence the relationship.

i do it to make the money for my family. That’s something you can’t seem to grasp.

Personality shine through? Yeah, I outdo guys with Wharton School of Business degrees with nothing but a high school education and US Army blood n guts attitude.

Thats why my kids and wife want for nothing. If impressing a bunch of Chinese with a Patek Philippe and fancy shoes then that’s what I do. We ain’t bomhommies outside of the board room.

but hey, not everyone can be as self-Righteous as you are.

I respect your reasons. I’m sorry I came off like such a jerk. I’m not really like that. I’ve been dealing with some issues with a friend and I’m a little on edge. I’m sorry about that. Your family is the most important thing. My apologies Sir.

By the way, I like your screen name. I had a Super 38 custom built a while ago that is sweet. Great caliber. FAC34F9E-12DF-48A3-B4DB-43468F6B1495.jpeg

Okay, after all my crap I better post a pic of my old Swatch. Yes I still wear it sometimes. These are actually gaining in value which is easy since they were $35 new. I have a few of them but this is my favorite. ED975EB4-3B46-4F81-A408-77C924277EB7.jpeg
