Anybody live in Houston? I would bet dollars to donuts that METRO (city bus system and other transit) had far more bad intent and now they are backpedaling. Passenger claims were made regarding bag searches and asking people about their travel.

Why is the chairman of METRO stating, "We're going to get to the bottom of this"? He invites TSA to perform a "terrorism" initiative and he is out of the loop? Lying?

I suppose many of the residents at that meeting are not enamored with the mentality of If you don't like it, then don't ride the bus. Good for them for speaking up.

Story Here. The video is short and worth watching.

Most metro transit is subsidized by the taxpayers...

The bosses could care less if anybody rides it ....:frown:

But if you have nothing to hide, what do you have to fear?

I really don't understand the obsession with increasing transportation security. It is ineffective and horribly inefficient at anything other than annoying any smuggler or terrorist with half a brain. Besides, there are much more high profile targets that are almost completely undefended in this country.

I imagine my response of "Go F Yourself" to any TSA question about where I'm headed on a city bus would get me thrown off it, but then I'm not one to ride the Shame Train to begin with.
