I thought this was interesting, so I figured I would share. While waiting to the see the Dr. I checked my email, and the clicked on my book mark for Glock Talk and no workie, I get the following message.

Site blocked. glocktalk.com is not allowed on this network.
This site was categorized in: Weapons

We were called from the waiting room so I was unable to see what other site was blocked. On a follow up visit I am going to try out a few more sites to see what happens. I understand that I was using their WiFi and could of turned it off. I am thinking I could most likely go to sites that support criminal acivities, that it is easier just to block out the easy ones.

More then likely they are using something like sonicwall or something similar. My work uses it and at first it was blocking weapons, games, illegal content all kinds of things.

It was funny at the time our firewall blocked Glocktalk, but allowed XD talk. thankfully my work turned off a few of the banned catagories so that I can visit my favorite sites.

This used to be the case on my hospital's internal network, might still be but not an issue when using their public WiFi instead. However, even when hooked up on the internal network if I used Mozilla Firefox instead of IE, the blocks were no longer in place. Don't know if the same is true with other systems or not.

My work firewall allows Glocktalk and couple of other gun forums but bans access to parenting forums.

    I'd get a new doctor.

Sounds like he voted for Obama.

File a complaint with the hospital... let them know you don't like their web-blocking crap but appreciate the free wifi.

Same at my hospital, it can get boring working ER on a slow night.

This is a nation that elected a very anti-gun POTUS. What did you expect to happen just about anywhere?

so there's no longer a backdoor into glocktalk? I saw reference to one on an old post on the high road.

Glocktalk is blocked at work and so is ar15.com, but their mirror site gets me in. A solution like that would really help my post count here.
