Are you required to have a holster during GSSF matches. If you are what kind works best?

Holsters are not required but are allowed. Some folks carry their Glock in a holster, some a gun rug many in a range bag and some even use their Glock case.

GSSF has no draws, just shooting from low ready. You can check all the rules at: www.gssfonline.com

Ok, thanks. I was wondering about that. I have another question for you.........How many mags do you need and are high caps allowd even though you only ten shots?

High caps are allowed but like you mentioned only 11 rounds in the pistol. You can shoot with only 2 mags, but with 5 you can load and shoot each stage without the need to reload mags during the stage. If you only have two mags the ROs will let you reload during the stage.

Ah, I see. Do you carry all five mags on your person?

I use a Green Mountain range bag and carry everything in it. You can carry your mags on your person but there is no advantage to doing so. When I move to the line to shoot I place my mags on the table that delineates the firing line and then change them as needed to shoot the stage.

BTW, if you are looking for a good holster, I think a bunch of folks around here are partial to Sidearmor. ;) Team Sidearmor makes a strong showing at many of the matches. At 0830 the registration table at LEX looked like it was being overrun by gray shirts!

Yes sir; Sidearmor makes one of the finest holsters on the market. I have 3 of them and they are hard to beat. Plus Patricia and the gang are great to do business with and they stand behind their product.
