It would be difficult to have a multi purpose holster even with an OWB holster for carry, as speed of draw will suffer unless you are planning exclusively for IDPA, which your carry rig would work.
I have a guy who does custom kydex stuff. Custom fit to your gun AND to your hip. He made me an outside holster for my 229 that conceals just as well as my comp-tac IWB. I'll post pics in a while.

You can choose degree of cant, beltloop style, retention strength, cut-out size, sweat-guard height, etc. Only problem is you have to physically bring your gun to him. Eh 'diva gunvan ngayown?
