Well holosun did it. They released the SCS compact carry direct mount for Glock 48/43X mos pistols. Green only. Now the wait!

Arguably not much. Even if you wanted open emitter only, the 407/507k are avaliable at a cheaper price point. In my mind, the SCS standard is more interesting on full size guns because they offer true cowitiness and a lower height w/o plates. Though that will have competition with CHPWS offering their own MOS compatible optic that actually allows user serviceable batteries, though it remains to be seen if they are true co-witness. Probably not based on the deck height

The advantage the SCS still offers is transitioning from irons to dot is so much easier since you have that true co-witness.

You beat me to it. if the 43/8X MOS uses an "orthodox" RMSc footprint, a Holosun K footprint optic WON'T direct mount. This is one of the big negatives of the Holosun K line. They need to figure out how to make their optics work with the strict RMSc footprint.

It is NOT direct mount on your typical 43x/48

Tried, really tried, to make the SCS MOS GRN work, but returned for a 507COMP GRN.

Why?

The SCS MOS is not manually dimmable. When shooting on an indoor range at longer distances 40'+, when the target is relatively smaller, using even just the dot is so bright it washes out the center of the target and you are left just guessing. True the SCS MOS has automatic brightness control, and brightness can be manually turned up some, but not manually down. I thought at purchase that Holosun would have this figured out , and would adjust automatically down under bright indoor lighting, but it is not the case. Outdoors the automatic brightness is OK, but would still rather control like a standard 507.

Perhaps more important, for carry or home defense use, SCS MOS does not have shake awake. It has to be manually turned on (and off), not optimal in critical situations.

Note that the SCS MOS fits full width Glock MOS, but does not the narrow 43X which uses the K series Holosuns. I have both, a 43XMOS with a 507K GRN and a G34MOS now with a 507COMP GRN, and also 510 on a carbine.

There's no need to ever turn it off. Keep it on 24/7 all year. A single full charge will last 2.28 YEARS when left ON 24/7. It's in the instructions. Why would you think you have to keep turning it on & off every time you use it? Information is power. Read the instructions. It's literally designed to be left ON all the time. Top it off with a full charge once a year by placing the disassembled slide in a sunny spot for a day, like on your dresser or window sill. Otherwise it will stay charged just with occassional use in a lighted area.

Wow this will be what I wait for. I’m sure it won’t be cheap. Assuming 329ish.

including the adapter plate is amazing too. Finally, a product to be excited for.

It's direct mount to the 43x no?
