I'm hearing good things about the new gen 5 finish. Anything would be better than the gen 4 finish. I really want a new G43, but I won't have the gen 4 finish. So, I called glock to see when it would be available in the new finish. "No plans to make the G43 with the new finish". So here's the deal. I will not buy a glock until they do. Anyone else feel the same.

Second sentence is false! Not having a 43 is not better than having a 43 with the gen 4 finish if you want one! I got a 43 when they came out cuz so cute, but oddly it was more uncomfortable to AIWB than my EDC 19 (and I’m a lot more comfortable shooting the 19). The shorter length stuck me right on the pelvic girdle; whereas the 19 rides past it in the groove better.

I haven’t had an issue with the gen 4 finish yet and I think it’s a silly idea to pass on a model because of it. If it wears, who cares. As far as carrying it, I agree with Scott, it’s definitely more comfy carrying the g19 appendix IMO, who woulda thought.

In response to TheSundanceKid...When I worked as a police officer in Washington State, I responded to a call in which a guy stuck a .45 down the front of his pants appendix style. When my partner and I arrived, he was sitting in a chair in his kitchen with a bloody towel draped between his legs and blood all over the chair beneath him. You can probably figure out what happened but I had to take a look for myself and after seeing what that bullet did to that guy's pride and joy I will never carry appendix and stick to IWB or OWB at the 3-5:30 position exclusively. Needless to say that guy was rushed into the ER and eventually had to be airlifted to Seattle for treatment. I never heard what ultimately happened but I don't think the guy was able to function quite the same prior to sticking his pistol down the front of his pants that night.

I showed the Glock 43 to my wife at a gun store and she held and said, this is a girls gun, it's so small. Her S&W is a single stack 8+1 and she likes the feel, said it's similar to the Glock 43. I just bought a G-19 Gen 4 and that feels small to me, the G-43 feel like a toy and my hands are by no means large. Hey, if we all weren't different life would be boring.

I handled an armed robbery once where the guy fired a shot when he left the business. At first everyone thought he was just trying to warn people not to follow. I followed a blood trail for awhile to where it ended. Under the house was the blood soaked money and clothing. Long story short we found him at the hospital with a GSW to his junk. I love a happy ending.

My first was a G19.5. I really like the DLC with my 43 next to the 19 I really wish the 43 had a DLC finish. I am considering finding a place to send it to have it coated.

I don't get the AIWB carry. Is it a new fad? I see it a lot on youtube. I recently went to an indoor range in Scottsdale, and it seemed to be an employment requirement for all the staff there to wear AIWB. That and sleeve tats.

They’re cheap enough guns. If the finish wears, get another one or send it out to be refinished. Life’s too short to be entitled and huffy.

I have no problem with the Gen 4 finish but I'm not buying a G43 until Glock makes a factory 7 round mag for it that I can carry as a spare.

The other thing is that I'm hearing bad things about the Gen 5 finish such as that it's too slick and that it's harder for some people to grip the slide, but you can't always believe what you hear. And I'm not buying a Gen 5 either until they get rid of that stupid front magazine cut-out.
