This thread over at HKPro links to HK's website which has a German publication describing the SFP9 family of pistols. The SFP9 is, of course, the European VP9. Among the variants that they list within the family are the SFP9sk, which will use P30sk magazines, a "special forces" version with a shorter trigger and reset, two long-slide versions, and a practice version.

So awesome!! If you love the VP9 as I do, this is awesome news.... I hope they're out in '16!

I think the special forces version is the VP9 we get already, the SFP9 SF. There is a SFP9 TR model with a longer heavier trigger to meet certain European police standards. The SF trigger is 24 newtons (5.4 lbs) vs the TR trigger of 30-35 newtons (6.7-7.9 lbs). So the U.S. already gets the better trigger.

So you don't think we are going to see a VP9Sk?

I definitely think we will see the VP9SK. It's clearly meant for U.S. markets where personal carry is important. The European market won't be as interested since they mostly target shoot or need duty pistols more than CCW weapons.

This reference to SPF9-SF is different from the SPF9-SK. The German publication on HK's website discusses four different products in the SPF-9 family of pistols. The SK is one of them. We will definitely see a VP9SK .... hopefully, sooner rather than later.

That is the beauty! P2000sk and P30sk for those who like hammer-fired and, when it comes, the VP9sk for the striker-fired fans.

I wish HK would produce three sizes like Glock does. Heck Sig has FOUR sizes with the P320 now.

Glock does sizes right, though I do wish the compact was about a 1/4" taller in the grip.

It should sell great for HK. I have my carry guns and have no want or need for anything small.

The VP9 is a great pistol though.
