I have a chance to get a HK Expert in 9mm for around $850 (used). I'd like to use it for the range and possibly for IDPA. I've read that it fits the 8.75" long IDPA box, but I've also read some reports that it's too long for IDPA. Has anyone shot this pistol and is it better than a Glock 34 for IDPA? Many thanks.

You have to swap out the ambi control level with a standard. Not positive on the 9, but on the 45 Expert, you have to swap out the hammer as well for a bobbed one.

Expert's a sweet gun, but the Glock is just so easy to customize. As everyone says, try both. Oh, and if you don't want the Expert, I am interested.

I don't think the HK will fit the IDPA Box or be legal for USPSA Production either.
