I entered the GSSF indoor league and ended up as the highest scoring female shooter (Whoo Hoo!) I was surprized to get a plaque and was told it was a new GSSF prize.

It's really nice, however, I wish it said "high score - lady" or something to that effect. Rather than looking like an award for drug use.
 My husband got a good laugh about it
Any chance that wording change might take place? I'd like to try to get another one and don't want to look like an addict when I post it to facebook

Very cool, congrats. If I won a plaque for being high whatever I think the wording would be the last thing on my mind. Just be sure to tell people its meaning when you post it on FB. Then not only did you explain but you help spread the word about the GSSF and shooting sports in general.

I love it! And I'm proud of it! And I hope to get another! I just think it would be nice if it didn't require an explaination. Adding a single word ("score") solves that. It was just a suggestion since it's something new. I figured GSSF might be open to the suggestion. If not, no big deal. I'll just explain it each time. And when someone comments about the wording, I can say a change was suggested.

Hey, that's great. I can see where a small wording change may make more sense though. I think one specific company does GSSF plaques - I suppose they do the Indoor League as well and may as well tool up 'correctly' for future plaques.

You may as well start pushing for (requesting) that change now, for all the high ladies in the future. :) If they do change it, you may end up having a semi-rare High Lady plaque in years to come.

Danny may have some more info on your recourse.

Congratulations.

There are several alternatives that can be offered to GSSF:

High Lady
High Female
High Lady Shooter
High Female Shooter
1st Place Ladies Class
1st Place Lady
1st Place Female

Perhaps the ladies at GSSF in Smyrna will review the alternatives.

Technically, something with 'Female', rather than 'Lady' would be more appropriate in shooting circles for division or category/class awards.

Besides... to paraphrase that old joke...
Who was that lady I saw you with last night?
That wasn't no lady, that was a
GSSF shooter!

How about "Top Female Shooter"?

Of course I bet she was "High" when she found out she got the award.:wavey::faint:

Congratulations. That is something to be proud of.

"High ____" still sounds like high is describing the noun that follows it. So if High needs to be used, it should be followed by "score":

High Score Lady
High Score Female
High Score Lady Shooter
High Score Female Shooter

The 1st place wording is great too. Everyone is pretty clear about what 1st place means! :)

I do hope this will be considered. But as I said, I'm very pleased and proud of the plaque! And will be trying to get more :)

Uh-oh... there goes our consensus of two female shooters. :faint:
