HI VIZ sights are shooting LOW on my G17!

I went and shot my wife's G17 at the range today to try out the new Green HI VIZ sights I had put on. I was surprised to see that all my shots hit about 2 inches low and just a smidge to the left.

I was at an indoor range and this happened on all targets at all distances from about 7 feet out to the max of 50 feet. If I corrected my hold and aimed about 2 above the bullseye, I was able to keep all rounds in the 9, 10 and X ring.

Has anyone else noticed this problem with their Hi Viz sights? I double checked the package to make sure I bought the correct sights, so I don't what else it could be. I also noticed that the screw at the top of the sight is NOT level, so the it does protrude up a little into the sight picture. I didn't think it was a huge problem, but was a little annoying just the same.

Would it be easier to file that little bit of the screw off myself or take it to the gunsmith to do something with? Advice on what to do?

2 inches is nothing to worry about just adjust for it, hold slightly above or on top of the 10 ring. AS long as you know wehre the bullet is going to hit you are fine. The Hi-Viz are not made exactly the same as the sights you had slightly different sight picture, so anytime you change sights you can expect a little change. As for shooting to the left nudge the rear sight slightly to the right untill you get it where you want it.

Better yet do what I do to all my Glocks get a crimson trace laser. They should be standard equipment on all Glocks. Then you dont even have to raise the gun to eye level you can shoot out the ten ring from the hip if you wanted. Shop around Ebay has them for as low as $165. They really are worth every penny. Not only are they great for aiming tehy are a great training aid. The laser will let you see if you are pulling your shots and let you see exactly what you are doing before and after you pull the trigger.

Screw that "kentucky elevation" crap! If your gun isn't shooting to POA with those sights, you should call the manufacturer or get new sights.
Or you could learn triger control.

Its not the sights.
