You know, there are also mods, where you can take all the units in the demo and ake your own battles. Even include different maps AND a deployment phase. I've downloaded those to extend the fun, and boy, does it! Play as the roman legions in trebia, play as the gauls, play as Hannibal vs the gauls, etc.

I've found gamespot.com to be good for info and downloads regarding games.

I don't know if Rome is there, though. Actually, I'm going to go look right now.

I caved and subscribed to FilePlanet for a few months. No regrets so far.

    As far as those games:

-Tribes Vengeance: Looks good and fun, dissapppointed only 32 person servers. I've gotten spoiled playing on 3,000 person servers playing Planetside. ;)

-World of Warcraft: WoW indeed! I must admit I was a naysayer of the hype, but have been playing the stress test and love this game. This coming from a FPS guy who has never really gotten into MMORPGs.

    -Rome: Total Bore(nuff said)

Just cause it doesn't suit you, doesn't mean the games a total bore...

It just means you are ;f;f;f;f

j/k, all in good fun. Personally, I appreciate history and enjoy the execution of the total war series. So it suits me just fine. But then I also like the Combat Mission series of WWII strategy games from www.battlefront.com which also use a dual mode interface. TBS with RT execution is how they do it.

    No I realize Rome:TW is a great game, it's just I don't enjoy it.

Kinda like I know Beethoven is great when I hear it, but I don't spend my leisure time listening to him. :)

Fingolfin, I'm completely taken by World of Warcraft. I played Star Wars Galaxies and City of Heroes but WOW is just incredible. The amount of places to explore and discover is just staggering. Yesterday I decided to take my character for a swim in the ocean and found a sunken galleon guarded by some fish men armed with tridents. I'll be happily plunking down my monthly fee when it's released in November.
