I didn't want to post this in Carry issues and set off a riot.

The latest set of MPOTEC updates in PA had a section educating officers on open carry.
The lectures told everyone that open carry is not illegal w/o LTC (except in Philly). Response "WHAT???!!!"

They also said that even if you are called if on public property and not otherwise restricted to be careful in dealings with OC'ers as they know their rights and you can get in hot water if you violate them!
Also stated that if on private property and not otherwise violating law you can only ask them to leave...

Guess the message is getting out..

Well, I have mixed feelings about posting that.

First, I think it is very good and useful information indicating that agencies are making efforts.

Second, the reality of "there will be confrontations" is there, and everyone should be up on the law.

Third, if you post that in Carry Issues, and the response is as I believe it has the potential to be, it will bring out the radical ends of the spectrum.

Fourth, related to the third point, that would give Eric and the mods a chance to cull the herd of those who munch on too much loco-weed.

Post it.

I'm up for it.

Russ,

Those are all valid points in my somewhat humble opinion...
I knew YOU would truly understand!!!

Thank you...

I Dunno :dunno:

I kinda feel like it would be similar to posting plans for the bomb in GNG. Just because I can does it mean I should?..........
It is a terrible responsibility to decide to be responsible for all those tiny little minds going into overload and imploding.

I understand that...what with the latest crop of drive-by-opinion-spewers, it would be gas on the fire. :faint:

If only they would implode sooner rather than waiting until they've pissed off someone who has not read the thread, yet feels obligated to pick a fight on general principal.

The problem is it wouldn't matter if many of them read every post, their reading comprehension is so abysmal they still would not know what was actually said.
True...

Like a first grader who sounds out the words, but when asked, "Now, little Johnnie, what does that mean?", proudly says, "I dunno..., but I read the words right, huh?"
