I am bringing 45 high school students to San Antonio this week. We are leaving Louisiana Wed. night and will arrive in San Antonio Thurs. morning. We are doing a lot of the usual tourist stuff, including the Alamo, Mision San Jose, Buckhorn, Dave and Busters, Seaworld, Spurs game, the Market Square, Zoo, and the Ripley's stuff. Do y'all have any other good ideas like maybe a teen club where they can dance (no alcohol, of course), or just hang out and play basketball. Also, if you want to meet a fellow GTer, I can pm you an itinerary and we can meet up at Rivercenter Mall or somewhere similar. I would really appreciate any ideas. I do this trip every other year. Oh yeah, we are also going to Big Lou's pizza, Mi Tierra, and Lulu's Cafe.:wavey:

Sounds like a lot of fun. I will put some thought into a place to hangout but the teen scene isn't my specialty! Lol! I would love to meet up but my Police Academy schedual owns me right now.

Well it sounds like you have it pretty well covered. I don't know how far you want to travel out of downtown, but....

Natural Bridge Caverns is about 30-40 minutes north off I-35 towards New Braunfels. There is also a neat drive thru wildlife ranch next door.

Also, 45 min. north on Hwy 16 are some great "Dude" ranches in Bandera. Lots of fun can be had there.

The caverns didn't have any openings on the times we had. I will keep the dude ranches as possibilities for when I go with the family. Unfortunately, most of my inner-city, black kids are terrified of horses and/or nature and convincing them would be an up mountain (not molehill) battle. The wildlife ranch sounded great but on a charter bus the kids wouldn't even have access to the animals. I did my research, but I was hoping I had missed something. Thanks for the input.

Yeah, last trip, I had more trouble getting me and the other teachers out of Dave and Busters than I did the students. They were tired and we were wired! LOL!

Yeah, one of my kids asked me what we were going to do at SeaWorld and I told him, "Try not to get eaten by a whale", he looked a little confused!

If you had your heart set on a caverns, you can try Cascade Caverns in near by Boerne. The caverns are almost as good as Natural Bridge but there is less to see and do above ground. They are probably a little closer to the downtown area than Natural Bridge. Have Fun.
