Hiya my Friend and thanks for asking.
I can honestly say that we love it here in Western Canada.
    All of us.
We relocated to Alberta from BC last year and so far we are very satisfied with this move.
Monika is collecting her documents (we were teenagers something like 20 years ago) and preparing for the exams to start the college in Calgary.
She's also working a part time job as a residential cleaner.
She's going to become a nurse eventually.
Zosia...well, after 2 years in Canada she one of the two, best students in her class.
She's attending a Catholic School in our small town and the teachers still can't believe that she's Polish not Canadian born.
No accent, rich vocabulary (we are working on her with Monika) and she accomplished all this in such a short period of time, starting from zero (when she came she had no knowledge of English whatsoever).
She's smart, cute little girl that we are very proud of.
Me...I'm about to be lay off from the armored truck company and I'm searching for some other job out there now.
However I can't complain as I'm on the right path to apply for the position with the Sheriff Department here in Alberta or in BC one day.
In less than 2 years I should be also able to join Canadian Forces Reserve.
Recruitment for the Sheriffs' is in freeze (because of the recession thing) and most likely it will stay this way for the next year or so.
We enjoy the outdoors every weekend.
I just bought my first, western boots.
I'm slowly building my collection of the firearms and waiting for better times working hard.
So, making a long story short - life is good here.
Much nicer than back in Europe for sure.
    Stay safe.

ps. here are the random, but recent pictures from here.

Wow congratulations for everything going good. Great pictures. I never expected Canada to look so wildernessly and desolate. I guess its the western Canada thing.

Hi Nestor! I'm really glad things worked out here for you and your family. So did you move to Alberta for better job prospects or were there just too many crazy hippies here in BC?

Outstanding Adam! I'm sorry to hear you are about to be laid off. May you find another job quickly. It would be great if you were to be hired by the Sheriff's dept, best of luck on that. Your young lady is growing up fast! Congratulations on her doing so well in school!

Poland's loss is Canada's gain my friend. Take care.

Hey, Adam, where in AB are you? I lived in Cochrane about 7 months last year.....about 25 minutes west of Calgary. From looking at your pics, you sure look like you're in the same area!

I'll be back up for the summer........can't wait.

I love BC, well maybe with the exception for Lower Mainland ;)
Yeah greenish - pinkish hippies were spotted in the large numbers, but even there we discovered two, three places where we could possibly live if the right job offer would arise.
Vancouver Island is much nicer though, the same goes for interior in general.
Maybe one day we will come back.
So, in my case it was more about the job and costs of living mostly.
However we love Alberta and wouldn't mind to stay here for good.
It's all about the job prospects in the future.
Western Canada is our new home.
    That's for sure :)

The pictures were taken around Cochrane and Ghost Lake.
We are in Airdrie - just a few miles away :)

Thanks everyone for the warm words.
    I will be good.
I'm not suffering from the "insecure position symptom" ;)
    At least for now.
I'm doing my job the best way I can and looking for something different at the same time.

    No.
We still need to obtain the visas from the US embassy first.
    Maybe this year...
